Rachael Yamagata in New York

Rachael Yamagata is an American singer-songwriter and pianist, born in Arlington, Virginia, in 1977. She first performed with the Chicago band Bumpus before starting a solo career. Her debut album, Happenstance, includes “Be Be Your Love” and “Worn Me Down”; later releases include Elephants...Teeth Sinking into Heart, Chesapeake and Tightrope Walker. Concerts supporting Happenstance brought Yamagata to clubs and theatres with a live band, moving between piano and guitar as she sang. She toured again after independently releasing Chesapeake in 2011, followed by international dates for Tightrope Walker in 2016. She has also made repeated headline visits to South Korea, including concerts in Seoul.
