Racionais MC's in São Paulo

Racionais MC's are a Brazilian rap group formed in São Paulo in 1988 by Mano Brown, Ice Blue, Edi Rock and KL Jay. Their songs address racism, poverty, violence and Black life in the city's outskirts. The album Sobrevivendo no Inferno and tracks including “Diário de um Detento,” “Negro Drama” and “Vida Loka” are central to their catalogue. The Racionais 3 Décadas tour began in 2019 with an anniversary concert at Arena Anhembi in São Paulo. The tour later concluded at Allianz Parque in 2023. Mano Brown, Edi Rock and Ice Blue front the group's concerts, while KL Jay performs on turntables. At Rock in Rio in 2022, the group performed with Orquestra Sinfônica de Heliópolis. That year they also appeared at Primavera Sound São Paulo.
