About Rainbow Girls
Rainbow Girls are an American folk trio formed in Santa Barbara, California, by Erin Chapin, Caitlin Gowdey and Vanessa May. Their music centers on close three-part harmony, acoustic instrumentation and roots songwriting; they are known for the albums American Dream and Rolling Dumpster Fire, as well as their rendition of “Down Home Girl.”
The trio’s early live history included a busking tour through Europe before sustained club and festival touring in the United States. Rainbow Girls later appeared at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco and the Kate Wolf Music Festival in Northern California.
