About Rainbow
Rainbow is a British hard rock band formed in 1975 by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore after he left Deep Purple. The early lineup featured singer Ronnie James Dio, whose recordings with the band included “Man on the Silver Mountain” and “Stargazer.” Later lineups recorded “Since You Been Gone” with Graham Bonnet and “I Surrender” with Joe Lynn Turner.
Rainbow headlined the inaugural Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park in 1980. After touring behind Stranger in Us All in 1995 and 1996, Ritchie Blackmore revived the band for a limited series of concerts beginning in 2016, including a performance at Genting Arena in Birmingham.
