Ricky Ross is a Scottish singer-songwriter, born in Dundee in 1957, and the lead singer and principal songwriter of Deacon Blue. He is closely associated with the band’s melodic pop-rock and songs including “Dignity,” “Real Gone Kid,” “Chocolate Girl” and “When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring).” His work outside the group includes the solo collection Short Stories Vol. 1 and the memoir Walking Back Home.

Ross has spent much of his concert career fronting Deacon Blue on theatre and arena tours. In 2022, his Short Stories Vol. 2 shows placed him in a more intimate solo setting, performing at the piano and guitar while telling stories connected to his songs and Walking Back Home.
