Robert Glasper in London

Robert Glasper is an American pianist, composer and producer, born in Houston in 1978. He plays jazz shaped by hip-hop, R&B and neo-soul, both under his own name and with the Robert Glasper Experiment. The album Black Radio won a Grammy, while Black Radio 2, Covered and Everything’s Beautiful further established his collaborative approach. Robert Glasper’s recurring Robtober residency at New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club features multiweek runs, changing ensembles and guest vocalists, rappers and instrumentalists. He has also performed at Newport Jazz Festival in the United States and North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.

Marsha Ambrosius is a British R&B and neo-soul singer-songwriter from Liverpool, born in 1977. She first became known as the vocalist in Floetry, the duo she formed with Natalie Stewart, whose album Floetic included “Say Yes” and “Getting Late.” Her solo debut, Late Nights & Early Mornings, featured “Far Away” and “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player).” In 2015, she reunited with Natalie Stewart for a Floetry reunion tour, bringing songs from Floetic and Flo’Ology back to the stage. She co-headlined the M.E. Tour with Eric Benét in 2017, then appeared on selected dates of Maxwell’s 50 Intimate Nights Live tour in 2018.
