Roger Daltrey in New Buffalo

Roger Daltrey is an English rock singer, born in London in 1944, best known as the lead vocalist of The Who. His voice is central to songs including “My Generation,” “Baba O’Riley” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” while his solo catalogue includes the albums Daltrey and Ride a Rock Horse, the McVicar soundtrack and the single “After the Fire.” In 1994, Daltrey presented Daltrey Sings Townshend at Carnegie Hall, performing Pete Townshend’s music with an orchestra and invited guests. He toured Tommy in 2011, singing the rock opera in full, then returned to the work for orchestral concerts in 2018. That interpretation was documented on the live album The Who’s Tommy Orchestral.

Jeffrey Gaines is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, whose music draws on folk rock, alternative rock and pop. His 1992 self-titled debut introduced “Hero in Me,” and his catalog also includes Somewhat Slightly Dazed, Galore and Toward the Sun. The concert album Jeffrey Gaines Live captures his established solo format, centered on vocals and acoustic guitar. Its repertoire connects his own songs to the performance most closely associated with his concerts, his interpretation of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes.”
