Roomful Of Blues in Derry Village

Roomful Of Blues is an American band formed in Westerly, Rhode Island, in 1967 by guitarist Duke Robillard and pianist Al Copley. Its horn-led sound draws on jump blues, swing and rhythm and blues. The group’s catalogue includes Roomful of Blues and Turn It On! Turn It Up!, as well as recordings with Big Joe Turner and Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson. Live at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel documented the band at the Providence club and captured the large-ensemble format that became central to its touring work. Roomful Of Blues has spent decades playing clubs, theatres and blues events in the United States and abroad, including the Chicago Blues Festival and the San Francisco Blues Festival.
