Artists
Saint Etienne are an English indie-pop and electronic group formed in London in 1990 by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs, with Sarah Cracknell becoming their lead singer. Their best-known records include the albums Foxbase Alpha, So Tough and Tiger Bay, as well as the songs “Only Love Can Break Your Heart,” “Nothing Can Stop Us” and “He’s on the Phone.” In 2016, the group performed Foxbase Alpha in full at the London Palladium for the album’s 25th anniversary. Three years later, they presented Tiger Bay at the Barbican in a concert arranged for band and orchestra, and a 30th-anniversary Foxbase Alpha tour followed in 2021. Saint Etienne have repeatedly played Manchester and Glasgow on UK tours.
Nick Heyward is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1961, who fronted the new-wave pop band Haircut One Hundred. He wrote and sang on the album Pelican West, including “Love Plus One,” “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)” and “Fantastic Day.” His solo work began with North of a Miracle, which produced “Whistle Down the Wind,” “Take That Situation” and “Blue Hat for a Blue Day.” In 2011, Nick Heyward reunited with Haircut One Hundred at London’s indigO2 for a performance of Pelican West. His later concerts have combined songs from the band’s catalogue with material from his solo records, and he has brought that repertoire to British nostalgia events including Rewind Festival.
