Sasha Velour is an American drag performer, artist and stage producer born in Berkeley, California, in 1987 and based in Brooklyn. She won the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and is also known for creating the drag revue NightGowns. In 2015, Sasha Velour founded NightGowns, which was later adapted as a documentary series. Her first solo drag production, Smoke & Mirrors, toured internationally; she followed it with The Big Reveal Live Show, a stage production combining lip-sync performance, video art, personal storytelling and spoken presentation.
