About Schürzenjäger
Schürzenjäger are an Austrian band formed in the Zillertal in 1973, originally under the name Zillertaler Schürzenjäger. Their music encompasses Alpine folk, schlager and rock, and their best-known songs include “Sierra Madre,” “Zillertaler Hochzeitsmarsch” and “Schürzenjägerzeit.”
The band’s annual open-air concerts in its Tyrolean home region became a central part of its live history. The 1993 edition was documented on Live Open Air Finkenberg, and the group ended its original run at the same site with a farewell concert in 2007. After re-forming in 2011, Schürzenjäger resumed touring and returned to the home-region open-air tradition at Alpen Air.
