Sepultura in Buenos Aires

Sepultura is a Brazilian metal band formed in Belo Horizonte in 1984 by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. Its early thrash and death metal developed into the groove-driven sound heard on Chaos A.D. and Roots; key songs include “Refuse/Resist,” “Roots Bloody Roots” and “Ratamahatta.” In 1991, Sepultura performed at Rock in Rio II at the Maracanã while touring behind Arise. The band joined Pantera’s Far Beyond Driven tour in North America in 1994, then carried Roots through another international concert cycle. Sepultura began its farewell tour, Celebrating Life Through Death, in 2024 as the headlining act. Across successive album cycles, the band has returned to Brazil and repeatedly toured the United States and Germany, including headline concerts in São Paulo and New York.
