Shoshana Bean in Kirkland

Shoshana Bean is an American singer, songwriter and actress whose work spans musical theatre, soul and R&B. She is known for playing Elphaba in Wicked and for the albums Superhero, O’Farrell Street and Spectrum. Her Broadway debut came in the original cast of Hairspray. She later took over as Elphaba after Idina Menzel, returned to Broadway as Jenna in Waitress, and played Susan Young opposite Billy Crystal in Mr. Saturday Night. She subsequently originated the role of Jersey on Broadway in Hell’s Kitchen, the musical built around the songs of Alicia Keys. Sing Your Hallelujah is her recurring holiday concert, drawing on seasonal music and her own recording catalog. She has presented the show at New York’s Apollo Theater.
