Simone Cristicchi in Conegliano

Simone Cristicchi is an Italian singer-songwriter and theatre performer, born in Rome in 1977, whose work draws on pop, rock and the cantautore tradition. He won the Sanremo Music Festival with “Ti regalerò una rosa” and is also known for “Vorrei cantare come Biagio,” “Meno male” and “Abbi cura di me.” His albums include Fabbricante di canzoni and Dall’altra parte del cancello. In 2010 he brought Li Romani in Russia to the stage, adapting Elia Marcelli’s account of Italian soldiers on the Eastern Front into a musical monologue. He followed it in 2013 with Magazzino 18, directed by Antonio Calenda, which premiered at the Politeama Rossetti in Trieste before touring Italian theatres.
