About Skinny Puppy
Skinny Puppy is a Canadian electro-industrial band formed in Vancouver in 1982 by cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre. The group became known for abrasive electronic production, distorted vocals and records including Bites, VIVIsectVI, Too Dark Park and Last Rights; “Assimilate,” “Dig It” and “Worlock” are among its best-known songs.
Skinny Puppy reunited onstage at the Doomsday Festival in Dresden in 2000, then supported The Greater Wrong of the Right with a concert tour in 2004. The band returned to the road for Final Tour in 2023 and concluded its farewell run at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles.
The concerts paired electronic sequencing and live percussion with costumes, prosthetics, fake blood and performance-art scenes centered on the stage characters of Nivek Ogre.
