Artists
Sleeper are a British Britpop and alternative rock band formed in London in 1993, fronted by singer and guitarist Louise Wener. They are known for songs including “Inbetweener,” “Sale of the Century” and “What Do I Do Now?”, the albums Smart and The It Girl, and their cover of Blondie’s “Atomic” for the Trainspotting soundtrack. Sleeper performed at Glastonbury Festival in 1995 during the campaign for Smart. After the band split in 1998, Louise Wener, Jon Stewart and Andy Maclure reunited in 2017 and returned to the stage at the touring Star Shaped Festival.
Turin Brakes are an English indie rock band formed in South London in 1999 by Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian. Their 2001 debut, The Optimist LP, was nominated for the Mercury Prize; later releases include Ether Song and JackInABox, while “Pain Killer (Summer Rain),” “Underdog (Save Me)” and “Fishing for a Dream” are among their best-known songs. Turin Brakes toured The Optimist LP with Knights and Paridjanian at the centre of the performance, then established a full-band concert format with bassist Eddie Myer and drummer Rob Allum. A London Palladium show was documented on Live at the Palladium, and the group later returned to UK clubs and theatres while touring subsequent records. Their festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival and V Festival.
