About Turin Brakes
Turin Brakes are an English indie rock band formed in South London in 1999 by Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian. Their 2001 debut, The Optimist LP, was nominated for the Mercury Prize; later releases include Ether Song and JackInABox, while “Pain Killer (Summer Rain),” “Underdog (Save Me)” and “Fishing for a Dream” are among their best-known songs.
Turin Brakes toured The Optimist LP with Knights and Paridjanian at the centre of the performance, then established a full-band concert format with bassist Eddie Myer and drummer Rob Allum. A London Palladium show was documented on Live at the Palladium, and the group later returned to UK clubs and theatres while touring subsequent records. Their festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival and V Festival.
