Sondre Lerche is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Bergen in 1982, who writes indie pop and folk-leaning rock. He is known for the albums Faces Down and Two Way Monologue, the songs “Modern Nature” and “Two Way Monologue,” and his music for the film Dan in Real Life. Sondre Lerche opened for Beth Orton during his early international touring. He later performed in clubs and theatres both alone with a guitar and with a backing band; the 2012 live album Bootlegs documents his full-band concert repertoire.
Starchild & The New Romantic is the solo project of Bryndon Cook, a Washington, D.C.-born singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. Cook debuted the project with the Night Music EP in 2012. Ghostly International later released the EP Crucial and debut album Language, followed by Cook’s self-released Forever. Starchild & The New Romantic toured with Solange, Dev Hynes, Chairlift and Kindness, while Cook also served as Solange’s musical director and bandleader. The release Live at National Sawdust documents a performance in Brooklyn.
