About Sortilège

Sortilège is a French heavy metal band formed in Paris in 1981. Led by singer Christian “Zouille” Augustin, the group became known through its self-titled EP and the albums Métamorphose and Larmes de héros, records marked by high-register vocals and lyrics in French.

Sortilège returned to the stage at Germany’s Keep It True festival in 2019 after a long absence. The revived band later performed at Hellfest in 2022, bringing material from its 1980s catalogue to a major French metal festival.
