About Special Interest

Special Interest is an American band formed in New Orleans in 2015. The group plays dance-oriented no wave, punk and industrial rock, led by Alli Logout’s vocals and the rhythm programming of Ruth Mascelli. Its principal albums are Spiraling, The Passion Of and Endure; songs including “Don’t Kiss Me in Public” and “Midnight Legend” brought the band to a wider audience.

In 2022, Special Interest performed at Primavera Sound in Barcelona as its international club and festival schedule expanded around Endure. The quartet subsequently toured on both sides of the Atlantic and appeared at Glastonbury Festival in 2023.
