Spider Murphy Gang is a German rock-and-roll band formed in Munich in 1977. Singing in German and Bavarian dialect, the group became closely associated with Neue Deutsche Welle through the album Dolce Vita and songs including “Skandal im Sperrbezirk” and “Schickeria.” The band marked its 30th anniversary in 2007 and its 40th in 2017 with major hometown concerts at Munich’s Olympiahalle. Beyond those arena celebrations, it has maintained a tradition of New Year’s Eve concerts at Circus Krone.
