Artist
Steve Hackett is an English guitarist and songwriter, born in London in 1950 and best known for his work with Genesis between 1971 and 1977. His guitar parts feature prominently on songs including “Firth of Fifth” and “Dancing with the Moonlit Knight.” While still in the group, he released his first solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, followed later by records including Spectral Mornings. In 1996, he performed in Tokyo with John Wetton, Ian McDonald, Chester Thompson and Julian Colbeck; the concert was released as The Tokyo Tapes. He brought Genesis Revisited II to Hammersmith Apollo in 2013, where the performance was recorded for a live album and concert film. Later tours revisited complete albums and extended suites: a 2019 program paired Selling England by the Pound with Spectral Mornings, while Seconds Out + More! returned to the Genesis live repertoire. The Foxtrot at Fifty tour then centered its Genesis set on the 1972 album Foxtrot.
