Stoned Jesus are a Ukrainian rock band formed in Kyiv in 2009 by singer and guitarist Igor Sydorenko. Their music draws on stoner rock, doom metal and psychedelia. The second album, Seven Thunders Roar, includes “I’m the Mountain,” their best-known song; later records include The Harvest and Pilgrims. Stoned Jesus toured Europe repeatedly after the release of Seven Thunders Roar and later performed at Hellfest in Clisson. In 2018, the trio opened for Deep Purple at the Palace of Sports.
Monolord are a Swedish doom-metal trio formed in Gothenburg in 2013. Their debut album, Empress Rising, introduced the long title track that became a signature song, while Vænir, Rust, No Comfort and Your Time to Shine developed their slow, heavily distorted sound. Monolord played Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and performed at Desertfest in both London and Berlin. The trio later appeared at Freak Valley Festival, where Rockpalast filmed their full set.
