About Symphony X
Symphony X is an American progressive-metal band formed in Middletown, New Jersey, in 1994 by guitarist Michael Romeo. Their music draws on power metal, classical composition and progressive rock, and their best-known records include The Divine Wings of Tragedy, V: The New Mythology Suite, The Odyssey and Paradise Lost.
In 2005, Symphony X joined Megadeth’s inaugural Gigantour, whose lineup also included Dream Theater. They later co-headlined a North American tour with Iced Earth in 2012, then returned to clubs and theatres for a 2022 anniversary run supported by Haken and Trope.
