About System Of A Down
System Of A Down is an American alternative-metal band formed in Glendale, California, in 1994 by musicians of Armenian heritage. The group is known for the album Toxicity, the paired releases Mezmerize and Hypnotize, and songs including “Chop Suey!,” “Aerials” and “B.Y.O.B.”
The band played Ozzfest in 1998 and returned to performing in 2011 after a multi-year hiatus. Its 2015 Wake Up the Souls tour marked the centenary of the Armenian genocide and concluded with a free concert at Republic Square in Yerevan.
They also headlined Download Festival at Donington Park and performed at Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro.
