About Tarta Relena
Tarta Relena are a Spanish vocal duo formed in Barcelona in 2016 by Marta Torrella and Helena Ros. They reinterpret music from Mediterranean vocal traditions through close harmony, a cappella singing and electronics, working across languages including Catalan, Spanish, Latin and Greek. Their recordings include Ora Pro Nobis, Fiat Lux and És pregunta.
Following Fiat Lux, Tarta Relena performed its polyphonic repertoire at theatres and festivals across Europe. Torrella and Ros appear as a two-voice ensemble, using electronic processing and programmed rhythms around their interlocking vocal lines, a format they have presented at Sónar, Primavera Sound and Rewire in The Hague.
