Tavares is an American vocal group formed by brothers in New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1959. Their soul, R&B, funk and disco catalogue includes “It Only Takes a Minute,” “Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel,” “Don’t Take Away the Music” and their recording of “More Than a Woman” for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

As Chubby and the Turnpikes, the brothers worked the New England club circuit before signing with Capitol Records and adopting the Tavares name in the 1970s. They later carried that repertoire into theatres and festivals, including a 2015 performance at Glastonbury Festival.
