Texas Is The Reason is a New York City post-hardcore and emo band formed in 1994 by guitarist Norman Brannon, drummer Chris Daly, singer-guitarist Garrett Klahn and bassist Scott Winegard. The quartet released a self-titled EP in 1995, followed by its only studio album, Do You Know Who You Are?, on Revelation Records in 1996. Texas Is The Reason toured the United States and Europe before breaking up in 1997. The band reunited for two shows at Irving Plaza in 2006, returned for further hometown dates in 2012 and completed a European tour at London’s Electric Ballroom in 2013.
