The Format is an American indie-pop and rock band formed in Peoria, Arizona, in 2002 by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. The group is known for the albums Interventions + Lullabies and Dog Problems, as well as songs including “The First Single (You Know Me),” “The Compromise” and “She Doesn't Get It.” The Format toured behind both studio albums in clubs and theatres across the United States. In 2007, a Los Angeles performance from the Dog Problems era was filmed and released as Live at the Mayan Theatre.
The Get Up Kids are an American emo and indie-rock band formed in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1995. They became known through the albums Four Minute Mile and Something to Write Home About, particularly songs such as “Holiday,” “Action & Action” and “I’ll Catch You.” Their catalog also includes On a Wire and Guilt Show. The band ended its first run with a 2005 farewell concert at the Uptown Theater in its hometown. A surprise 2008 reunion at the Record Bar led to renewed touring and anniversary performances of Something to Write Home About. In 2024, the band played the record in full at When We Were Young in Las Vegas.
