The Bar-Steward Sons Of Val Doonican in Southampton

The Bar-Steward Sons Of Val Doonican are a British comedy folk band formed in Barnsley in 2006. Led by Scott Doonican, they recast familiar rock and pop songs with comic lyrics, Yorkshire references and punning titles; their repertoire includes “The Lady in Greggs” and “How Deep Is Your Glove?”. Their brightly patterned knitwear draws on the stage image of singer Val Doonican. The band has performed at Glastonbury Festival and developed a longstanding association with Bearded Theory. They also play theatres and arts centres around the UK, while further festival appearances have included Beautiful Days and Fairport’s Cropredy Convention.
