About The Beatnuts
The Beatnuts are an American hip-hop group and production team formed in Queens, New York, in 1989. The core duo of JuJu and Psycho Les became known for sample-driven beats, dry humor and records including Street Level, Stone Crazy and A Musical Massacre. Their best-known tracks include “Watch Out Now,” “Off the Books” and “No Escapin’ This.”
The Beatnuts appeared at Rock the Bells during the festival’s 2000s run, presenting their catalogue in a large multi-artist hip-hop setting. Their club and festival sets center on two MCs and a DJ: JuJu and Psycho Les trade verses while the DJ handles the backing tracks.
