About The Cardigans
The Cardigans are a Swedish band formed in Jönköping in 1992, playing pop and alternative rock led by Nina Persson’s vocals. They became widely known through “Lovefool,” followed by songs including “My Favourite Game” and “Erase/Rewind”; their key albums include First Band on the Moon, Gran Turismo and Long Gone Before Daylight.
A 1996 concert at Shepherd’s Bush Empire was captured for Live in London. Tours supporting Gran Turismo followed, and after an extended break from performing, the band returned in 2012 to play the album in full at selected concerts, including Hultsfred Festival.
Their festival appearances took them well beyond Jönköping, including performances at Coachella in California and Summer Sonic in Japan.
