The Charlatans in Boston

The Charlatans are a British alternative-rock band formed in the West Midlands in 1988 and closely associated with the Madchester scene. Their catalogue includes the albums Some Friendly and Tellin’ Stories, as well as songs such as “The Only One I Know,” “Weirdo” and “One to Another.” In 1996, The Charlatans performed at Oasis’s Knebworth Park concerts. Decades later, they mounted a joint UK arena tour with James in 2021, followed by a 2023 North American co-headlining tour on which they played Between 10th and 11th in full while Ride performed Going Blank Again.

Frankie Rose is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist associated with Brooklyn’s indie-pop and noise-pop scene. Before recording under her own name, she played in Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls. Her solo catalogue includes the dream-pop album Interstellar, Herein Wild, Cage Tropical and the synth-driven Love as Projection. In 2012, Frankie Rose toured North America behind Interstellar with Dive, the group later known as DIIV. Her band also brought the record to South by Southwest in Austin.
