Artist
The Darkness are a British hard-rock band formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk, in 2000. Their 2003 debut album, Permission to Land, includes “I Believe in a Thing Called Love,” “Growing on Me” and “Love Is Only a Feeling,” songs built around Justin Hawkins’s falsetto and the band’s glam-rock sound. The Permission to Land tour brought the band to Wembley Arena in 2004. After re-forming, they opened for Lady Gaga on the European leg of The Born This Way Ball in 2012, then celebrated their debut album’s twentieth anniversary on the Permission to Land... Again tour in 2023. The Darkness headlined the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2004. The reunited band returned to festival performance at Download Festival in 2011.
