About The Detroit Cobras
The Detroit Cobras are an American garage-rock band formed in Detroit in 1994. They became known for raw, compact reinterpretations of 1950s and 1960s rhythm and blues, soul and rock ’n’ roll, including “Cha Cha Twist” and “Shout Bamalama.” Their principal albums include Mink, Rat or Rabbit, Life, Love and Leaving and Baby.
The Detroit Cobras toured North America and Europe behind Mink, Rat or Rabbit and Life, Love and Leaving, bringing their full-band performances chiefly to clubs. Rachel Nagy fronted those shows until her death in 2022; Mary Ramirez played guitar.
