The Duprees in Port Chester

The Duprees are an American vocal group formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, in the early 1960s. They are known for polished doo-wop harmonies and orchestral pop recordings, led by their 1962 version of “You Belong to Me.” Their other signature songs include “Have You Heard,” “My Own True Love” and “Why Don’t You Believe Me.” The Duprees remained active on the oldies circuit after their first hit records, performing in theatres and multi-artist doo-wop concerts through changing lineups. Their later stage history includes the PBS concert special Doo Wop 50, recorded at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh.
