About The Earls Of Leicester
The Earls of Leicester are an American bluegrass group formed by dobro player Jerry Douglas in 2013. The band interprets the music of Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys, including “The Ballad of Jed Clampett” and “Foggy Mountain Breakdown.” Its self-titled debut won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, followed by Rattle & Roar.
The Earls of Leicester performed at the Grand Ole Opry as a six-piece acoustic ensemble centered on dobro, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, upright bass and close harmony singing. The concert album Live at the CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame documented that stage format in 2018.
