The Ennis Sisters in Summerside

The Ennis Sisters are a Canadian family group from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, made up of Maureen, Karen and Teresa Ennis. They play Celtic- and folk-rooted music with country-pop elements. Their recordings include the debut album Red Is the Rose, Christmas on Ennis Road, Three and the self-titled album that produced “It’s Not About You” and “I’d Never Walk Away.” They won the 2002 Juno Award for Best New Country Artist/Group. The Ennis Sisters began by performing for family and friends before moving into pub engagements, festivals and touring. Their live lineup reflects their individual roles: Maureen Ennis sings and plays guitar, Karen Ennis plays tin whistle and flute and performs step dance, and Teresa Ennis plays bodhrán and also step dances.
