The Barra MacNeils in Georgetown

The Barra MacNeils are a Canadian family band formed in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, in 1986. The siblings play Cape Breton Celtic folk music through ensemble singing, fiddle tunes and traditional dance; their catalogue includes the albums The Question and The Christmas Album. An East Coast Christmas is the group’s recurring holiday theatre tour, built around seasonal songs, instrumental pieces and step dancing. The Barra MacNeils have also performed in concert with Symphony Nova Scotia, a collaboration documented on a live album, and appeared at the Celtic Colours International Festival on Cape Breton.
