The Hamburg Blues Band is a German blues-rock group formed in Hamburg in 1982 by singer and guitarist Gert Lange and guitarist Alex Conti. The band plays hard-edged electric blues and is known for its long-running work with British blues-rock vocalists including Maggie Bell and Chris Farlowe. The Friends for a LIVEtime concert series brought guest singers and musicians into the group’s club and theatre shows. The band later marked its 40th anniversary on tour, again featuring Maggie Bell as a guest vocalist.
Krissy Matthews is a British-Norwegian blues-rock guitarist, singer and songwriter, born in 1992. He is known for guitar-led electric blues and albums including Scenes from a Moving Window, Monster in Me and Pizza Man Blues. At 12, Krissy Matthews was invited to play onstage with John Mayall. He went on to tour European clubs and festivals and became a guitarist and vocalist in Hamburg Blues Band. The album Live at Freak Valley documents his performance at Freak Valley Festival.
