The Handsome Family Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

The Handsome Family is an American husband-and-wife duo formed by Brett and Rennie Sparks in Chicago in 1993. They play alt-country and gothic folk, pairing Brett’s baritone and music with Rennie’s lyrics. Their best-known recordings include the albums Through the Trees and Singing Bones; the latter contains “Far from Any Road,” which became the opening theme for the first season of True Detective.

David Bowie invited The Handsome Family to perform at his Meltdown festival in London in 2002, part of the duo’s long history of touring outside the United States. They later played Glastonbury Festival in 2016, after “Far from Any Road” had introduced their work to viewers of True Detective.
