About The Matches
The Matches are an American rock band formed in Oakland, California, in 1997, initially performing as the Locals. Their pop-punk and alternative-rock catalogue includes the albums E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals, Decomposer and A Band in Hope, and songs such as “Audio Blood,” “Chain Me Free” and “Papercut Skin.”
The band established the all-ages L3: Live, Loud & Local concert series at iMusicast, helping to build its audience through hometown shows. Repeated appearances on the Vans Warped Tour followed as its touring expanded, and after suspending activity in 2009, the group reunited in 2014 for anniversary performances of E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals, including a show at Slim's in San Francisco.
