The Obsessed is an American doom-metal band formed in Potomac, Maryland, in 1976 around guitarist and singer Scott “Wino” Weinrich. Heavy riffs, hard-rock momentum and Weinrich’s direct vocal style shape records including The Obsessed, Lunar Womb and The Church Within. Roadburn Festival brought the group to Tilburg in 2012 for a reunion performance featuring Weinrich, Guy Pinhas and Greg Rogers. After another lineup change, the band returned to clubs in the United States and Europe while touring behind Sacred, still led by Wino.
Hippie Death Cult is an American heavy-rock band from Portland, Oregon. The group plays doom-laden stoner and psychedelic rock, represented on the albums 111, Circle of Days and Helichrysum. Hippie Death Cult documented its stage work on Live at the Star Theater, a concert recording made in its hometown. The band later brought its heavy, guitar-led set to European clubs and festivals, including Desertfest Berlin.
