The Olllam is an American and Northern Irish instrumental group formed in 2012 by Tyler Duncan, Michael Shimmin and John McSherry. The trio plays contemporary Celtic music led by uilleann pipes and whistles, supported by drums, keyboards and post-rock textures. Its principal recordings are the self-titled debut The Olllam and the follow-up elllegy. Shows followed the debut record, and in 2022 the group returned to touring around elllegy. That run brought its extended instrumental pieces to clubs and theatres in Ireland and Britain. The concert lineup is built around the founding trio, sometimes expanded by bass and guitar. At its center are the interlocking pipes and whistles of Tyler Duncan and John McSherry, set against the drumming of Michael Shimmin.
