The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart is an American indie-pop band formed in New York in 2007 by guitarist and vocalist Kip Berman, keyboardist and vocalist Peggy Wang, bassist Alex Naidus and drummer Kurt Feldman. The group pairs melodic pop songwriting with noise-pop distortion and shoegaze textures. Its records include the self-titled debut, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Belong, Days of Abandon and The Echo of Pleasure. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart toured extensively across North America and Europe, including a joint tour with Cymbals Eat Guitars. The band also performed at SXSW, Primavera, Pitchfork Music Festival and Coachella.
