The Savage Rose is a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 1967. Psychedelic and progressive rock, jazz, blues and gospel all figure in its music, led by Annisette’s distinctive vocals. The group is known for its self-titled debut, In the Plain and the music for the ballet Dødens triumf. The Savage Rose performed at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1969 during an early American tour. In later years, the band appeared at multiple editions of Roskilde Festival across several decades.
