Waco Brothers are an American alt-country band formed in Chicago in 1994 by Jon Langford, also known for his work with the Mekons. Their country and roots rock carries a punk edge, heard on albums including To the Last Dead Cowboy, Cowboy in Flames and Electric Waco Chair. The group became closely associated with Bloodshot Records and its alternative-country scene. For years, Waco Brothers closed Bloodshot Records showcases during South by Southwest in Austin. Those appearances accompanied extensive club touring, while hometown performances have included the Hideout and FitzGerald’s.
