The Weight Band is an American roots-rock group formed in 2013 by guitarist Jim Weider, who previously played in The Band. Its repertoire carries forward that group’s songbook while adding original material heard on albums including World Gone Mad and Shines Like Gold. Acoustic Live documented performances at Big Pink and Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock. The touring show uses a full electric band in clubs and theatres, combining its own songs with material such as “Ophelia,” “Up on Cripple Creek” and “The Weight,” led by Jim Weider.
