Artist
The Young Gods are a Swiss industrial-rock band formed in Fribourg in 1985 and led by vocalist Franz Treichler. Their use of sampled guitar riffs, electronic textures and live drums shaped records including L’Eau Rouge, TV Sky and Only Heaven; “Skinflowers” and “Kissing the Sun” are among their best-known songs. The 1992 concert album Live Sky Tour documented the band’s sampler-driven stage sound during the TV Sky period. They later recorded their 2005 appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, then reworked material from across their catalogue for the acoustic project Knock on Wood.
