Artists
Thee Sacred Souls are an American soul group formed in San Diego in 2019 by singer Josh Lane, drummer Alex Garcia and bassist Sal Samano. Their warm, harmony-rich sound draws on sweet soul and R&B, heard on songs including “Can I Call You Rose?,” “Will I See You Again?” and “Lucid Girl.” The group released its self-titled debut album through Daptone Records, followed by Got a Story to Tell. Thee Sacred Souls performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert in 2023, with Lane leading an expanded band through material from the debut album. Their subsequent headline touring reached theatres across North America and Europe, and the group performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2024.
LA LOM is an American instrumental trio formed in Los Angeles in 2019; its name stands for the Los Angeles League of Musicians. Guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner and percussionist Nicholas Baker play cumbia, bolero, chicha, soul and surf guitar, heard on tracks including “Danza de LA LOM” and “Figueroa” and on the album The Los Angeles League of Musicians. The trio began performing through a weekly residency in the lobby of the Hollywood Roosevelt, where it developed its repertoire in extended sets. In 2024, LA LOM presented that three-piece format at NPR’s Tiny Desk.
